Commencing this month Yamaha will be selling the small MT-25 naked sport machine in Indonesia. The MT-25 has the styling cues we in North America have come to expect from Yamaha’s very popular FZ-07 and FZ-09 models. Power is derived from a liquid cooled, 250cc parallel twin and the bike weighs in at 165 kgs. There is no word on whether the bike will be sold in Canada although the company coyly states that “the MT-25 is planned for many countries around the world, including developed markets”. Should the bike make it to Canadian dealerships it would seem much more likely that it would be powered by the same 320cc motor found in the new Yamaha R3 giving this little street fighter extra appeal and versatility. Let’s hear it for the FZ-03!
