With spring comes the need to do some racing. Flat track is probably the fastest growing type of racing in North America. Whether it will be the most popular form of racing as it once was remains to be seen but the resurgence is occurring both in Canada and south of the border where flat track recently became part of the summer XGames and a favorite new promotional tool for Roland Sands with his a celebrity racing series.
The low barriers to entry make the sport an accessible form of racing for those wanting something different but competitive. The skills developed in fat track have lead to success in other genres of racing and are used as off season training for many top road racers. Flat track typically has a myriad of classes that encompass both motorcycle type, displacement, rider experience and age and motorcycle vintage. If you have a bike, there is a good chance there may be a category for it.
Flat Track Canada promotes both national and regional options. Even if you don’t want to race, flat track is an excellent spectator sport with
