National Geographic has announced a new program called Riding Morocco: Chasing the Dakar which will see two riders exploring Morocco and in particular part of the route once used by the Dakar Rally before it departed North Africa bound for South America. The two riders involved are a disparate pair. One is Christophe Barriere-Varju , a veteran of the Paris-Dakar series. The other is Australian supermodel Laura Csortan. Laura will ride one of two Africa Twins supplied by Honda for the program. She will get the DCT transmission while her companion will be aboard the standard manual transmission bike. Unfortunately the press release from Honda did not mention anything about Ms. Csortan’s riding history and experience of which we hope she has plenty as even on tv it isn’t going to be easy. In reality show style there will be occasional tense moments and frayed nerves but the two will get through it in the end.The series will air on the National Geographic channel this June.
