It certainly isn’t your father’s sidecar. The 2016 World Sidecar racing season kicked of in Lemans last weekend. It was a challenging race due to heavy rain and water on the track resulting in both a red flag and a re-start over the course of the race. The World Sidecar Championship consists of rounds throughout Europe with the final round taking place at Donington in the UK. The current leaders are the British team of Tim Reeves and Gregory Cluze followed by the Finnish team of Pekka Paivarinta and Kirsi Kainulainen,the latter of whom is one of the women participating in the series.
