Victory took the official wraps off the machine created by Roland Sands to tackle the Pike’s Peak race. Hand built and featuring a prototype engine from Victory the Project 156 bike is set to go up against a variety of machines including a powerful Ducati presence. Details about the engine which could herald an entirely new direction for Victory are pretty slim beyond what we can see from the photos. Of the bike, the press release says “the Project 156 motorcycle is a hand-built road-racing bike with a prototype Victory motor developed at Victory’s Minnesota research and development facility. This liquid-cooled engine represents the future performance of the Victory brand. It features intake Twin 67mm throttles with downdraft runners for maximum power and torque as well as a performance valvetrain including titanium intake and exhaust valves to allow for maximum engine speed.” What comes from this effort in the longterm is intriguing as is seems obvious that Polaris has different plans for the Victory brand. An electric Victory racer is also set to tackle the Isle of Man race.
