YXZ1000R – Yamaha’s Bigger Triple

In an interesting development Yamaha has revealed an even greater dedication to the triple layout and we already know what great things the 850cc triple can do in the FZ-09 and FJ-09. It has just been revealed that Yamaha has bigger triples up its corporate sleeve – albeit in their ATV line-up. A 998cc triple producing a rumored 112hp has been shoehorned into the tuning fork company’s aggressive and all-new sport SxS, the YXZ1000R. The engine features four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 11.3:1 . If the attached video is any indication, it seems to move that SxS along at a pretty good clip.
